After graduating from The University of Bristol in 2010 I completed my Foundation Training in Bristol and Swindon hospitals. I then decided to take a year out to complete an MSc in Sport & Exercise Medicine at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
This freedom from hospital shift work allowed me to further pursue my personal passion - the sport of long-distance duathlon (run/bike/run) – a sport in which I had represented Great Britain’s Elite teams since 2005, and one that had given me the privilege of training and racing all around the world. After a successful year of racing in 2013 it was back to work for me!
I completed my three-year General Practice training in South Worcestershire in 2016 securing my MRCGP qualification. Since then I have worked as a locum GP for a handful of surgeries in Cheltenham and South Worcestershire.
Given my academic and sporting backgrounds, I take particular interest in musculoskeletal medicine and exercise for health. I am experienced in performing corticosteroid injections, when indicated, for a variety of conditions, and I rarely miss an opportunity to promote the importance of physical activity: you have been warned!
I live in Cheltenham with my wife and new baby daughter. In my free time I still train and race for Cheltenham & County Harriers, enjoy rock climbing and fair-weather cycling. Whilst the majority of my working week continues to be NHS work, at Spa Private Medical I enjoy having the time and environment to offer the personalised care that all patients deserve.
